Moving on Up

Today I’m sharing some big news with y’all! As much as I love to share home design, fashion, and a good ole’ DIY with y’all, it’s nice sometimes to invite you all into my life and the day to day. My parents have had hopes of moving from the big city to our family farm ever since I can remember, but with me in school and playing the cello, they wanted me to attend a school with an orchestra. Unfortunately, in the country, string programs are hard to come by. And then the market tanked. Fast forward a few years and their daughter (that would be me) decided to get married. And here we are today. My parents very last week of being homeowners in the big city.
It hasn’t quite hit me that they’ve actually sold the house. We moved into the house when I was 4, so I guess you could say it’s really the only place I remember living. I can remember the day we moved in and my Mom and Dad let me choose what room I wanted. I can remember waking up super early on my first day of kindergarten because I was so scared of missing the bus. I can remember sitting at the cute little table my Dad built for me for hours coloring and playing school. I can remember my first time pulling out of the driveway by myself the day I passed my driving test. I can remember my Mom stopping me in the hallway so she could take my picture on my last day of high school. I could go on and on for days about all the memories we had in that house. That’s where I grew up, where I had so many wonderful times and where I cried when my heart was broken. I’m sure going to miss this house, but I’m so excited for my parents to fulfill what they have always dreamt about…living the country life.
But, they’re not the only one’s moving! Surprise! We’re moving too! I have hinted at big changes a comin’ a few times, but I’m so happy to finally tell you all. Sometime after Thanksgiving, Stewart and I will be moving to Cincinnati for his job. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this new adventure. I’m so excited to live in a city again where shopping is only 10 minutes away, where there is something decent to eat besides Cheddar’s, where there is traffic!
Look out Ohio, this Kentucky gal is movin’ in!
